Heritage Turkeys
Heritage Turkeys are breeds of turkeys that used to be grown on small
farms before turkeys were bred to have such huge breasts.   Many of them
are endangered and we feel strongly that these heritage breeds must be
utilized as they were intended, as meat birds.  As they gain in popularity
their numbers will again increase.  They take longer to grow to market size
and are in general smaller than the modern turkey but the taste is like
nothing you have encountered.  Once you try a heritage bird you will be
hooked.  Order your heritage turkey today!  Numbers are limited.

"These rare breeds are part of our national heritage and represent a unique
piece of the earth's bio-diversity. The loss of these breeds would
impoverish agriculture and diminish the human spirit. We have inherited a
rich variety of livestock breeds. For the sake of future generations we must
work together to safeguard these treasures."

Conservancy)
